How does NV PAL work?
What other mental health resources are available to children and families in Nevada?
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI):
- National website - www.nami.org
- Nevada website - https://naminevada.org/
NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for people with mental illness. NAMI has hundreds of local chapters and affiliates across the country (including Nevada) with thousands of volunteer leaders in communities working to raise awareness and provide free education, advocacy and support group programs.
American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP): Family & Youth Resources
The mission of AACAP is to promote the healthy development of children, adolescents, and families through advocacy, education, and research, and to meet the professional needs of child and adolescent psychiatrists throughout their careers.
Inspiring Children Foundation:
There are lots of children's mental health resources that speak directly to clinicians and parents, but few that approach holistic mental health from the perspective of the child. InspiringChildren.Org does just that. Based in Las Vegas, the foundation lifts up "underprivileged youth by providing student-led, principle-based and restorative mental health & wellness programs." We encourage children, parents, and clinicians alike to utilize the resources on the Inspiring Children Foundation's website and participate in their programs if possible.
